Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 22, 2021 to Jan. 21, 2024. Signed on Aug. 29, 2021.
Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for lead-hands. $0.25 per hour for all hours worked between 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Paid holidays: 13 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, 1 floating holiday, day before New Year’s day.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 18 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 25 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for any hours worked after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
Meal allowance: $12 per sleep after 12 hours of layover for drivers who are required to layover and sleep away from home or for delays due to inclement weather.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $520 per month (previously $510 per month) to union health and welfare plan.
Pension: Employer will contribute $700 per month (previously $690 per month) to Teamsters and Participating Employers of Ontario Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days (3 days paid) for death in immediate family (father, mother, husband, wife, legal spouse, son, daughter, sister, brother, grandparents, grandchildren, stepparents, stepchildren, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews).
Seniority – recall rights: 90 calendar days only for employees promoted to supervisory position or positions not subject to agreement. 24 months for employees on layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at time and one-half.
Probationary period: Once employee has exceeded 24 hours in any 1 workweek, employee will be employed on probationary basis for 60 calendar days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for disciplinary measures.
Safety shoes: Employer will supply 1 pair of safety shoes or boots every 2 years for all employees who require them. $150 per year for maintenance employees.
Uniforms/clothing: Employees will be provide with 1 uniform every 2 years. Uniform will consist of 1 jacket; 2 pairs of winter pants; 3 long-sleeved shirts; 1 parka or liner or bomber jacket every 3 years; 3 short-sleeved shirts or 3 golf shirts; 2 pairs of summer pants; 1 pair of shorts. Drivers will have option of substituting items of equal value from this list according to their need at time of replacement. All dock employees will receive 1 pair of winter coveralls and 1 pair of summer coveralls once every 2 years. Employees handling hazardous material will be supplied with all necessary equipment, rubber clothing, goggles, etc. to protect employee.
Tool allowance: $520 per year for maintenance employees.
