Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2025. Signed on Feb. 17, 2023.
Paid holidays: 14 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month to start, 1 1.2 days per month after 3 years, 1 2/3 days per month after 5 years, 2 days per month after 10 years. Vacation leave may be carried over from 1 fiscal year to next, maximum 5 days.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 hours in 1 day or 40 hours in 1 week. Double time for all hours worked after 10 consecutive days without day of rest or for all hours for work between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. or where 4 hours or greater duration are worked between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. for duration of call until there has been overnight rest. Double time for work after 12 hours in 1 day. Employee may bank overtime, maximum 120 hours. Any overtime accumulated after 120 hours will be paid on next pay.
Meal allowance: $25 (previously $22) if employee works 6-hour call and subsequent call on same day extends past 4 hours, employee, beginning with fifth hour will be paid at double time.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1 1/2 days per month. Credits may be carried over from 1 year to next and may be accumulated, maximum 45 days. Maximum 5 days of mental health leave for personal wellness and mental health per fiscal year.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will deduct 4.5% of employee’s gross pay for each bi-weekly pay and deposit such deduction with group RRSP. Employer will match 4.5% of employee’s gross pay for each bi-weekly pay.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in family (spouse, parent, stepparent, grandparent, surrogate parent, sister, brother, half-sister, half-brother, child, grandchild, stepchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law). Maximum 2 additional days for employee who must travel out of Whitehorse due to death or imminent death in employee’s family. Employee may be given additional bereavement leave without pay, maximum 10 days.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoff or for employee who accepts excluded management position.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Safety shoes: Maximum $200 (previously $175) reimbursement for safety boots where required by employer or Yukon Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations. $175 once each year for employee’s dress blacks or for all gallery employees CSA-approved safety footwear.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply employees with hard hats, eye protection, ear protection, gloves, universal fall arrest harness where required by employer or Yukon Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
