Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 1, 2019 to Jan. 17, 2023. Ratified on Nov. 1, 2019. Signed on Dec. 6, 2019.
Shift premium: Time and one half for any work on employee’s sixth day of work in payroll week; double time for any work on employee’s seventh day of work in payroll week. $0.75 per hour for all hours worked on second shift; $1 per hour for all hours worked on third shift. $0.75 per hour (previously $0.50 per hour) for lead-hands (employer will appoint back-up lead-hand, who will earn premium when there is no lead-hand or member of management available to perform duties; premium will only apply to hours worked as back-up lead hand, rounded up to nearest hour).
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floating holiday to start; 2 floating holidays after 1 year of service.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days, or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years. When employee leaves on vacation, voluntarily quits employment or is dismissed for any reason whatsoever, employee will receive as vacation or severance pay 4%, 6% or 8% according to eligibility as of Dec. 31 of previous year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week; double time after 4 hours of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer will pay $333 per month (previously $306 per month) for non-probationary employees to Prairie Teamsters Health and Welfare Plan.
Pension: Employer will provide registered DC pension plan with employer match of maximum 3% contribution for eligible employees who wish to participate.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, father, foster-father, mother, foster-mother, child, adoptive child, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law. 2 days for death of their grandmother or grandfather. 2 additional days, without pay, may be given.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months to start; 18 months after 1 year of service for layoffs. 90 days for employee who receives leave of absence to take position within company (should employee return or be returned to bargaining unit for any reason, employee must remain within unit for minimum 120 days prior to exercising privilege again).
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours paid at time and one-half regular rate.
Probationary period: First 3 months from date of hire.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for disciplinary records.
Safety shoes: $150 per year for CSA-standard safety footwear.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide safety vests, safety glasses, work gloves.

Starting rate: $18.45 rising 2 steps to $19.20
6 months: $18.70 rising 2 steps to $19.45
12 months: $18.95 rising 2 steps to $19.70
18 months: $19.50 rising 2 steps to $20.20
24 months: $20 rising 2 steps to $20.71
30 months: $20.50 rising 2 steps to $21.25
36 months (top rate): $23.35 rising 2 steps to $24.19
Editor’s notes: Fees for casual employees: Employer will, as of first day of every month, remit permit fees on behalf of casual employees who have worked in previous month. Fees will be forwarded to union. Rate will be $4 per day, per casual employee, maximum amount equal to member start-rate monthly union dues. First-aid training: Employer will guarantee minimum of 1 trained first aid attendant per shift. Employer will train or recertify first-aid attendants as required. Medical certificates: If employer requires that medical certificate be provided by employee, employer will reimburse employee 80% of cost of obtaining medical certificate. New equipment retraining: When employer requires employee to take further training, employee will be paid for all time spent in training and cost of training paid by employer (when there is major operational change or change in utilization of equipment which causes shortage of work and retraining of employees). Teamsters industry fund: Employer will make contributions of $0.05 per hour for each employee covered by collective agreement to Teamsters advancement fund.
