Wage adjustments:

Job progression employees

After 12 months of employment: $1 wage increase

After 24 months of employment: $1 wage increase

After 36 months of employment: $1 wage increase

After 48 months of employment: $1 wage increase

After 60 months of employment: $1.50 wage increase

Shift premium: 5% of base hourly rate for working second shift (starting between 4 a.m. and noon). 7% of base hourly rate for third shift (starting between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m.). Overtime premiums will be paid on shift premiums.
Lead-hand is paid greater of highest straight-time hourly rate of employee in group they are leading or class 6 rate plus $0.10 per hour. Group leader is paid highest straight-time hourly rate of employee in group they are leading, plus $0.10 per hour. $0.30 per hour above highest straight-time rate paid to any employee in group they are leading for skilled-trades group leader. $0.50 per hour while operating dual presses. $0.50 per hour while operating clinch-nut machine. $0.50 per hour when heat treat set-up and operate run 2 furnaces (austemper and annealing furnace).

Paid holidays: 15 days, including 7 days over Christmas/New Year’s period.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 12 years, 5 weeks after 20 years, 6 weeks after 30 years. Employee must have worked at least 700 hours in qualifying year to be eligible.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work done in excess of employee’s regular daily scheduled hours and for all work done on Saturdays that isn’t part of regular Friday afternoon or Friday night shift. Employees will be notified half-shift in advance of overtime to be worked or be paid $10 in lieu. Maintenance personnel may bank overtime hours, maximum 40 hours but must be taken by Dec. 1 of following year.

Meal allowance: $10 will be applied directly to employees’ pay if employee is not notified 1 half-shift in advance of overtime to be worked.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for basic preventative plan. $1,000 maximum benefit per person per benefit year.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $150 every 24 months for employees and dependants.

Paramedical: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for chiropractic or physiotherapist treatment maximum of %250 per year.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $50,000.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $50,000.

Pension: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Bereavement leave: 5 paid working days for death of spouse, child, parent. 3 paid working days for death of sibling, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild. 1 paid working day for death of sibling-in-law, child-in-law, stepparent, stepsibling, half-sibling.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for employees with less than 12 months’ seniority; 36 months for employees with more than 12 months’ seniority.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half and double time for hours worked in excess of 4, when called back to work after having clocked out.

Probationary period: 45 working days of employment in any 12-month period.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.

Safety shoes: Employer covers safety footwear purchased from approved supplier that will be replaced annually if required. If employee selects footwear which exceeds value of agreed-upon selections, employee will pay any amount above value of agreed-upon selection.

Tool allowance: $200 per year per active ticketed-skill tradesperson. $250 for active apprentices for required tools, plus 1-time $200 allowance at commencement of apprenticeship.
