On August 25, the federal government released its first pay bulletin, providing public service employees with information on how Phoenix pay issues are being addressed.

The monthly bulletin is intended to provide regular updates alongside details of collective agreement implementation and progress on reducing the queue, said the government.

The government is also releasing a monthly Public Service Pay Centre dashboard that highlights progress made in August across three measures: transactions beyond the normal workload, pay centre workflow and the percentage of transactions processed within service standards.

Since July, the government has worked to identify and address root cause issues through examination of human resources payment processes.

"No one should have to tolerate missing or incorrect pay,” said Treasury Board President Scott Brison. “Across Canada, hard-working employees and their families continue to face difficult financial situations because of pay issues, and we are working collaboratively at all levels to fix the issues and ensure that employees receive what they are owed on time."

"The ongoing pay problems being experienced are completely unacceptable,” added Steven MacKinnon, parliamentary secretary for the public services minister. “We are working tirelessly with all partners to address these issues, and will continue to communicate with employees in an open and transparent fashion."

The August bulletin can be accessed here.
