4 people stabbed at Toronto office complex

Man, woman in critical condition in hospital

TORONTO (CP) — Toronto police say a suspect is in custody following a multiple stabbing at a business in the city's north end that left at least four people injured.

Spokesman Const. Victor Kwong says police received several calls at about 9:30 a.m. today, with some reporting ``a man with scissors'' possibly in his 30s had entered the business and began stabbing people.

Toronto Emergency Medical Services say four people were stabbed in the office complex (on Yonge Street near York Mills Road).

They say a man and a woman, both in their 30s, are in critical condition in hospital after being stabbed several times.

Paramedics took two other men to a trauma centre with serious slash wounds and they were said to be alert and talking.
