Workplace double homicide at Ontario construction company

Police lay two charges of second degree murder

The York Regional Police Homicide Unit is investigating a double homicide that occurred at a construction company in Schomberg, Ont. yesterday.

Police were called to an industrial business for a report of two injured men. Officers arrived on scene and discovered one man deceased at the scene, another with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to police.

After conducting a brief investigation officers arrested a man at the scene without incident, according to police.

Police have identified the victims as James Wilson, 76, of Orangeville and William Allan Jones, 76, of Schomberg.

The police have charged Robert Abernethy, 47, of Schomberg with two charges of second degree murder.
