WorkSafeBC ramps up 2012 OHS video contest

People’s choice categories added this year

WorkSafeBC is now accepting entries for the 2012 student video contest.

Student filmmakers are encouraged to create a short video based on this year’s theme of Home in one piece: What motivates you, your friends, or your family to come home safely from work?

The contest is open to all students in grades 8 to 12, as long as they have a teacher sponsor to provide supervision and sign off on their entry form. Winning entries will receive cash prizes.

Each entry for this year's contest will be available online as soon as it's accepted by WorkSafeBC.

The organization has added people's choice categories for Grades 8 to 10 and 11 to 12 this year. After watching contest entries, viewers can vote for your favourite videos online. Viewers are allowed to vote for as many videos as they want, but can only vote for each video once.

Entries will be available online to view at: http://www2.worksafebc.com/publications/multimedia/videos.asp?reportID=36577

The deadline for entries is April 15, 2012.
