Deadline approaching for CHRP exams

Students must register by Aug. 11 to write NKE and PPA

The registration deadline for the Oct. 14 sitting of the national exams is Aug. 11.

To obtain the Certified Human Resources Professional designation, students must successfully complete two exams, the National Knowledge Exam (NKE) and the Professional Practice Assessment (PPA). Both exams assess the student’s capability as a generalist.

After passing the NKE, candidates have five years to pass the PPA in order to receive the CHRP designation. The Canadian Council of Human Recourses Associations recommends that students have two to four years of experience before attempting the PPA. The pass score for both exams is 70 per cent.

Eligibility and registration requirements

Students wishing to write the NKE are eligible to register only if all academic course requirements have been met prior to the NKE registration deadline. Students must contact their provincial associations to register.

For the NKE, registrants must submit the following to their provincial association by the registration deadline:

•a completed national exam registration form;

•applicable fees; and

•original transcripts or grade reports

For the PPA, registrants must submit the following by the registration deadline:
