More companies offering top-up payments
A national magazine and the publishers of Canada's Top 100 Employers have released the fifth annual list of the 10 most family-friendly employers.
To make the list, published in the December issue of Today's Parent, employers were rated based on several measures, including parental leave options, top-up payments during maternity leave and alternative work arrangements for parents with young kids.
Businesses are becoming more family friendly, according to the magazine. There's been an increase in companies offering maternity leave top-up payments and more non-traditional sectors, such as video game producers, are offering the benefits, said Sandra Martin, senior editor of Today's Parent.
