Gunman opens fire at Indiana factory

An employee, who was allegedly fired or about to be fired, kills one employee, then self

A gunman opened fire at a factory in Goshen, Ind. on Thursday afternoon. He killed one employee, shot three to five other people and then killed himself.

A worker at the factory told police the gunman was either fired Thursday or was about to be fired.

A police spokesman said three to five people were injured but able to walk out of the building.

The Nu-Wood Decorative Millwork, a vinyl siding factory, is located in Goshen, about 200 kilometres east of Chicago. The industrial park houses several manufacturing plants and employs thousands of people.

The shooting occurred about 2:30 p.m. Family members began gathering at the factory site; some were told to go to a nearby school.
