“Very important” benefits according to employees

According to a recent study, The Canadian Consumer Survey on Healthcare, while employees appreciate the peace of mind their benefit plans provide, and they know the costs of healthcare are going up, they haven’t really thought about what that means to their benefit plans.

Asked what they valued most, drug coverage was the most important. Asked whether they would be willing to pay higher premiums to cover new drugs, 75 per cent said they would.

Here are the six benefits employees said are “very important”:

Drugs: 71%
LTD and STD: 68%
Dental: 63%
Extended health: 53%
Life: 46%
Accidental death and dismemberment: 45%
