Workopolis, AOL team up

Form alliance to deliver jobs, career information to AOL and Netscape users

Workopolis has teamed up with AOL Canada to deliver jobs and career information.

Under the agreement, job board Workopolis will power a co-branded career channel for AOL English and French services and career information from the AOL.ca and Netscape.ca websites.

“This alliance brings together AOL members in Canada with the online audiences for AOL.ca and Netscape.ca with Workopolis.com’s local and national audiences, delivering both jobseekers and recruiters a powerful resource that will match qualified prospective employees with the right position,” Workopolis stated in a press release.

It said the nearly 1.5 million Canadian users of AOL and Netscape will have easy access to the more than 31,000 jobs posted on Workopolis.

“Workopolis is pleased to be teaming up with AOL Canada Inc., a company known for its commitment to creating a secure and enjoyable Internet experience for Canadian families,” said Patrick Sullivan, president of Workopolis. “This agreement further extends the reach of jobs posted by our corporate customers onto the desktops of AOL and Netscape users across Canada.”

Workopolis is a partnership of three Canadian media companies — the Globe and Mail division of Bell Globemedia; Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd.; and Gesca Ltd., the newspaper publishing subsidiary of Power Corporation of Canada.

AOL Canada Inc. is a provider of online interactive services. It offers a range of Internet services, from dial-up to high-speed access. AOL Canada is an alliance between American Online, Inc. and RBC Royal Bank.
