Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2026. Ratified in June 2024. Signed on June 17, 2024.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2023: 3.5%
Effective April 1, 2024: 3.5%
Effective April 1, 2025: 3.5%
Shift premium: 40 cents per hour for each hour worked from start of day shift on Saturday to start of day shift on Monday. 50 cents per hour where the majority of hours fall between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. 30 cents per hour where majority of hours fall between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $5.50 per hour for RPN assigned as a charge nurse.
Paid holidays: 12 days, including 2 floating holidays. Every employee shall have at least Christmas Day or New Year’s Day off, unless they request to work both.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month up to 10 days to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 20 years, 7 weeks after 26 years.
Overtime: Time-and-one-half for all hours worked in excess of 7.5 per day or 75 per pay period, and all hours worked on paid holidays.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for extended health plan providing prescription drugs (no co-insurance) to a maximum of $2,000 annually.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for basic dental plan (Blue cross #9 equivalent) up to $2,000 annually.
Vision: $250 every 24 months.
Paramedical: $300 annually for orthotics, $500 annually for massage.
Sick leave: 1 day per calendar month to a maximum of 12 day per year.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $15,000.
Life insurance: Full-time employees: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage equal to employee’s annual earnings. Part-time employees: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $15,000.
Pension: Nursing Homes and Related Industries Pension Plan: Employees and employer contribute 4% of applicable wages.
Bereavement leave: 5 continuous calendar days for death of spouse, same-sex partner, parent, child, stepchild, sibling, parent-in-law, sibling-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, or legal guardian. Maximum of 5 paid days for death of spouse, parent, child, or stepchild, with a maximum of 3 paid days for the others listed. 1 day can be delayed for a future celebration of life.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.
Probationary period: 60 days or 450 hours worked, whichever is longer.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 16 months. 24 months for incidents of resident abuse.
