Collective agreement: Advance Wire Products Ltd.

Renewal agreement: August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2028. 

Wage adjustments: 

2024: 6% 
2025: 4% 
2026: 3.5% 
2027: 3.5% 

Shift premium: $1 per hour for afternoon shift. $1.50 per hour for night shift. $1.50 per hour for Occupational First Aid Level I and $2 per hour for Occupational First Aid Level II. 

Paid holidays: 13 days. 

Vacations with pay: 1 day for each major fraction of month worked (up to 10 days) to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 10 years, 6 weeks after 20 years, 7 weeks after 30 years. 

Overtime: Time-and-a-half for first two hours and double time after that. Double time for hours worked on Saturday, Sunday, and statutory holidays. Any shift premium not included. 

Meal allowance: Employees requested to work more than 2 hours overtime after the completion of their regular shift receive $20. 

Medical Benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for basic medical coverage under BC Medical Services Plan and extended health benefits. 

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for full coverage of basic dental/routine treatment (annual maximum $2,500), 50% of major treatment and orthodontic treatment (lifetime maximum $2,500).  

Vision: $200 every 24 months for employee, spouse, and dependents. 

Short-term disability: Employer pays 100% of premium for coverage of 75% of weekly insurable earnings limited to maximum weekly payment under Employment Insurance Act of Canada, up to 26 weeks. Payable on 1st day of accident and 4th day of illness. 

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $75,000, reducing by 50% at age 65 and terminating at age 71. 

Pension: Employer pays $2 per hour to pension plan, increasing to $2.50 per hour on Aug. 1, 2025, $3 per hour on Aug. 1, 2026, and $3.50 per hour on Aug. 1, 2027. 

Bereavement leave: 3 paid says (4 days for out of province) for death of parent, child, sibling, spouse, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, step-parent, step-child, sibling-in-law, or child-in-law. Additional unpaid time off not to be unreasonably denied. 
 
Sick leave: 5 paid days and 3 unpaid days per calendar year. 

Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for less than 6 months’ service, a period equal to seniority after 6 months’ service, 2 years after 24 months’ service. 

Probationary period: 60 days worked over 12 months. May be extended an additional 30 days by mutual consent. 

Severance: 10 days for each year of continuous service and increments of completed months of service up to 16 weeks, for employees terminated due to a merger, sale, consolidation, or permanent suspension of operations. 

Safety shoes: $150 per year for employees with at least 6 months and 1040 hours service for safety boots. May be accumulated to $300 over 2 years. 

Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides 2 new coveralls or shop coats annually to employees completing probationary period. Welders receive leather smock/jacket and welding gloves. Employer will reimburse employees for prescription safety glasses. 

Sample rates of pay:

Maintenance technician: $40.26 (2024) rising in 3 steps to $44.85 (2027). 
Quality control inspector: $33.27 (2024) rising in 3 steps to $37.07 (2027). 
Welder 1: $36.41 (2024) rising in 3 steps to $40.56 (2027). 
Assembly technician, warehouseman I: $30.78 (2024) rising in 3 steps to $34.29 (2027). 
Production worker 1: $25.54 (2024) rising in 3 steps to $28.45 (2027).
