Wage adjustments:
July 14, 2024: 11%

Shift premium: $1/hr for night shifts (midnight to 8:30 a.m.), $0.30/hr for work beyond 11 p.m. for all hours worked beyond normal closing time. $1/hr for assistant department manager.
Paid holidays: 9 days
Vacations with pay: ESA minimum to start; 2 weeks after 1 year; 3 weeks after 5 years; 4 weeks after 10 years; 5 weeks after 18 years. Vacation pay calculated as 4-10% of T4 earnings.
Overtime: Time-and-a-half after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week; double-time on statutory holidays.
Medical Benefits: Employer contributes $0.58 per hour worked, employee contributes $0.24 per hour worked to the Ontario Commercial Workers Benefit Trust Fund.

Pension: Employer contributes $0.88 per hour worked to the Canadian Commercial Workers’ Industry Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 paid days for immediate family (parent, parent-in-law, spouse including common-law spouse, stepparent, child, sibling, sibling-in-law, child-in-law, or grandchild); time off with pay to attend funeral for aunt/uncle.
Sick leave: Employees can make up missed time due to illness, up to 3 days per year, with management approval. Medical certificates may be required for absences over 3 days.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months or the length of seniority, whichever is lesser (minimum 6 months).
Call-in pay: Employees called back to work after their shift receive time-and-a-half pay.
Probationary period: 60 worked days for both full-time and part-time employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause of one year, except when related to harassment/violence, which remains for 36 months).
Safety shoes: Employer reimburses up to $125 annually for full-time employees and every two years for part-time employees if required by law.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides 1 shirt per part-time employee and 2 per full-time employee, with annual replacements.
Mileage: $0.25 per km for employees required to use personal vehicles for company business.
Sample rates of pay:
- Clerk: $16.55 - $18.10, increasing in 6 steps to $17.50 - 22.60 by 2028).
- Meat Cutter: 16.50 - $19.40, increasing in 6 steps to $18.50 to $23.90 by 2028).
- Grocery Manager/Produce Manager/Meat Manager: $22.10, increasing in 6 steps to $26.60 by 2028.
- Deli Manager/Bakedry Manager (bakeoff)/Combination Manager (deli/bakery), Night Crew Chief/Service Manager: $19.15, increasing in 6 steps to $23.65 by 2028.
