Collective agreement: Black Ball Transport Incorporated

Renewal agreement: January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. 

Wage adjustments: 

2025: 3.5% 

Paid holidays: 12 days. 

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 9 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 21 years. 

Overtime: For all time worked in excess of 8 per day, time-and-a-half for the first 2 hours and double time for all time worked thereafter. Double time for the first 8 hours worked on a Sunday or statutory holiday, triple time for the 9th and 10th hour on a Sunday or statutory holiday and quadruple time beyond 10 hours on a Sunday or statutory holiday. Time-and-a-half for first 8 hours on a regularly assigned rest day, 2 ¼ times for 9th and 10th hours, triple time thereafter. 

Medical Benefits: Employer pays 100% of the costs of Teamsters’ National Benefit Plan. 

Dental: Employer pays 100% of the costs of dental plan. 

Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of the costs of plan. 

Long-term disability: Employer pays 100% of the costs of plan. 

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of the costs of Group Life Insurance plan. 

Pension: Employer contributes $7 per hour worked for each employee to Teamsters’ National Pension Plan. 

Bereavement leave: 3 paid days for death of spouse, parent, child, step-child, sibling, parent-in-law, grandparent, or step-parent with status of parent. An additional 8 hours paid time off if the funeral is not within the first 3 days. 
 
Sick leave: Regular employees with 1 year of service receive personal leave of a ½ day per employed month up to 30 days. Can be used for sickness not covered by benefit plan or workers’ compensation for ½ day’s pay for first day absent and full pay for 2nd and 3rd days. 

Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for employees with less than 5 years of seniority. 12 months for employees with 5 or more years of seniority. 

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay, or 6 hours if worked more than 4 hours, or 8 hours if worked more than 6 hours, on a Saturday or sixth shift. 

Probationary period: 120 calendar days. 

Severance: 1 ½ weeks’ pay fir each year of service commencing with the 1st year of service, up to 52 weeks’ pay. 

Uniforms/clothing: Where any employee is required to wear a uniform or coveralls as a condition of employment, the employer shall provide and maintain it at not cost to the employee.

Traffic director (lead hand): $38.39 
Traffic director (full-time): $32.77 
Traffic director (permanent part-time): $29.78 
Traffic director (part-time): $28.60 
New hires: $24.50
