Collective agreement: Corporation of the City of Peterborough

Renewal agreement: January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026.

Wage adjustments:

2024: 6.1%
2025: 5.7%
2026: 5.4%

Shift premium: $1.06 per hour for each hour worked during night shift and afternoon shift.

Paid holidays: 12 days plus additional one-half day on the last half of the shift on the last working day prior to Christmas Day

Vacations with pay: 1 day for each complete month of service up to 8 days to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 5 weeks plus 1 day after 19 years, 5 weeks plus 2 days after 20 years, 5 weeks plus 3 days after 21 years, 6 weeks after 22 years.

Overtime: Time-and-a-half for all time worked outside of a regularly scheduled shift. Double-time for time worked on Saturdays and Sundays.

Medical Benefits: Employer pays total coast of premiums for Employer Health Tax and Extended Health Drug Plan.

Dental: Employer pays total cost of coverage to Dental Play #9, with 25% co-insurance for orthodontics and major restorative services,with $6,000 lifetime maximum for each.

Vision: $700 every 24 months for family members, including laser surgery.

Short-term disability: 75% to 100% of salary up to 17 weeks; number of weeks of 100% based on length of service.

Long-term disability: 75% of monthly income to a maximum of $8,000 payable to the earlier of retirement or age 65.

Life insurance: Employer pays total cost of coverage for 2 times the employee’s salary.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at double time on paid holiday; minimum 8 hours on New Year’s Day and Christmas Day.

Safety shoes: $600 per 2 years for CSA approved safety footwear.

Uniforms/clothing: Permanent employee receive clothing based on annual allocation of 22 points per year: pants (3 points), coolworks pants (6 points), shirts (2 points), golf shirts (2 points), sweatshirts (3 points), t-shirts (1 point), windbreaker (4 points), fleece jacket (4 points), leather cowhide winter gauntlet gloves (2 points), wool lined vest (3 points), thermal long underwear tops (2 points), thermal long underwear bottoms (2 points), thermal socks (1 point), ball cap (1 points), toques (1 point). Public Works employees receive orange parka, lineman jacket, bib overalls, coveralls, 3 t-shirts, hoodies. Other positions receive clothing as needed, including rain gear.

Tool allowance: $600 annually to mechanics.

WWTP licensed electrician (environmental protection): $36.28 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $38.84 (2026).
Public Works operator 1: $22.30 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $24.86 (2026).
Public Works arborist 1: $29.87 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $32.43 (2026).
Public Works permanent foreman 2: $37.46 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $40.02 (2026).
Public Works mechanic/auto body & paint technician: $41.02 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $43.58 (2026).
Arena operator 1: $26.42 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $28.98 (2026).
Arena foreman 2 permanent: $37.46 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $40.02 (2026).
