Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2025 to Aug. 31, 2028
Wage adjustments:
- Effective September 1, 2025 - 2%
- Effective September 1, 2026 - 2%
- Effective September 1, 2027 - 2%
Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Vacations with pay: 1.5 days per month for maximum of 15 days for less than 1 year of service; 15 days for 1 to 6 years of service; 20 days for 7 to 11 days of service; 23 days for 12 to 17 years of service; 25 days for 18 to 24 years of service; 30 days for 25 years of service and above.
Overtime: Double time if employee works on scheduled day off (SDO) with less than 48 hours’ notice; one-and-a-half times the regularly hourly rate if 48 hours’ notice or more is provided.
Meal allowance: Maximum per diem of $72.50 per day ($12.00 for breakfast; $27.50 for lunch; $33.00 for dinner)
Medical benefits: Single and family coverage
Pension: Bell Media defined contribution pension plan.
Bereavement leave: For death in their family (spouse, common-law partner or child, father, mother, sister, brother, step-parent), 5 days for the purposes of attending the funeral; for death of other family members (legal guardian, spouse or common-law partner of the father or mother, mother-in-law (including common-law), father-in-law (including common-law), daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, child of spouse or common-law partner or any relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee resides, 3 days for the purpose of attending the funeral.
Probationary period: Part-time: 520 continuous scheduled hours; full-time: 6 months
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 8 weeks’ notice or 8 weeks’ salary in lieu of notice, plus accrued vacation pay; severance pay equal to 3 weeks’ basic salary for each year of continuous service with the employer, to a maximum of 60 weeks’ pay. The employer will pay 100% of the cost of the employee’s medical and group insurance benefits coverage for a 6 months.
Uniforms/clothing: $300 per year for dry cleaning, clothing, personal care for photojournalists
Mileage: $0.56 per kilometre
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
- Level 1 video journalist/anchors: $24.10 rising in 2 steps to $25.08
- Level 1 senior technician: $31.24 rising in 2 steps to $32.50
- Level 1 creative services: $23.56 rising in 2 steps to $24.51
