Wage adjustments: Annual increases:

Sept. 1, 2022: 3%
Sept. 1, 2023: 3%
Sept. 1, 2024: 2.8%
Sept. 1, 2025: 2.5%

Shift premium: N/A

Medical Benefits: Access to ETFO Employee Life and Health Trust benefits for eligible members; long-term and permanent occasional teachers covered.

Dental: Included in ETFO ELHT for eligible members.

Vision: Included in ETFO ELHT for eligible members.

Short-term disability: 11 sick days at 100% salary, 120 short-term leave and disability plan days at 90% salary (pro-rated for part-time), with top-up options.

Long-term disability: Employee-paid LTD required for permanent teachers.

Life insurance: Included in ETFO ELHT for eligible members.

Pension: N/A

Bereavement leave: Up to 5 paid days days for death of parent, spouse, or child; up to 3 paid days for death of sibling, parent-in-law, sibling-in-law, child-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, or fiancé. One paid day for death of aunt, uncle, grandparent-in-law, or close personal friend. Additional discretionary days for special circumstances.

Seniority – recall rights: N/A

Call-in pay: Full daily rate guaranteed if called in error or cancelled without 1.5 hours notice.

Probationary period: 40 school days.

Discipline: Disciplinary records reviewable for removal after two years.

Mileage: Paid for required and authorized travel on Board business.

Sample rates of pay:

Qualified short-term occasional teachers: Daily rate was $257.46, increasing in three steps to $289.52 on Sept. 1, 2025.

Unqualified short-term occasional teachers: Daily rate was $144.77, increasing in three steps to $147.04 on Sept. 1, 2025.
