Renewal agreement: August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2027.
Wage adjustments:
2024: 3.75%
2025: 3.5%
2026: 3%
Paid holidays: Statutory holidays and civic holiday pursuant to the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000.
Vacations with pay: 4% of pay to start, 6% of pay after 5 years, 8% of pay after 10 years.
Overtime: Time-and-a-half for hours worked in excess of 44 in a work week, paid in increments of 15 minutes.
Meal allowance: Employees are entitled to beverages and meals during shifts worked. All employees working greater than 5 hours in a day shall be assesses a $1 contribution by payroll deduction. $3 charge as a taxable benefit for each shift greater than 5 hours ($1 for shift between 3 and 5 hours) for beverages consumed during shift or break.
Medical Benefits: Employer covers full cost for full-time employees; 75% of cost for part-time employees whose workload is between 51 and 75% of full-time work week; 50% of cost for part-time employees whose workload is between 35 and 50% of full-time work week.
Dental: Employer covers full cost for full-time employees; 60% of cost for part-time employees whose workload is between 51 and 75% of full-time work week.
Life insurance: Employer contributes full cost for full-time employees, 66 2/3% of cost of Group Life Insurance Plan for part-time time employees.
Bereavement leave: 3 paid days for death of parent, step-parent, spouse, common-law spouse (including same-sex partner), child, step-child, sibling, or step-sibling. 1 paid day for death of parent-in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law, grandchild, or grandparent. 1 additional day without pay where funeral occurs outside the province.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.
Probationary period: 4 months of continuous employment. May be extended another 2 months with written notice.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Safety shoes: $190 per year.
Sample rates of pay: If, at any time, the wages fall below the provincial minimum wage, such wages will be increased to the minimum wage.
Food service worker Level 1: $16.73 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $17.84 (2026).
Food service worker Level 4: $17.78 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $18.95 (2026).
Food service worker Level 7: $18.87 (2024) rising in 2 steps to $20.12 (2026).
