Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2026. Ratified in May 2024. Signed on xx.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1. 2024: 5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2025: 4%
Effective Jan. 1, 2026: 3%
Paid holidays: 12 days, including 3 float days.
Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 18 days after 4 years, 21 days after 9 years, 25 days after 14 years, 26 days after 19 years.
Overtime: Time and a half for hours worked in excess of 44 in a week for Centre employees. Home Child Care staff may be compensated with equal time off.
Meal allowance: $20 for employees required to work virtually or in person in the evening with prior approval.
Medical benefits: Employer pays full premium for extended health care coverage for permanent employees who work more than 20 hours per week.
Dental: Employer pays full premiums for plan similar to Blue Cross #9.
Vision: Employer pays full premiums for $300 towards prescription eyeglasses, contact lenses, or laser eye surgery for employee and dependents.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month of employment up to a maximum of 18 days per year. Accumulates up to 45 working days.
STD: Begins on day 8 of absence due to illness at rate of 66 2/3 and 33 1/3 from sick bank to reach 100% to a maximum of 30 days after commencement of absence.
LTD: 66 2/3% to maximum of $2,000 per month up to age 67. Payable for 2 years while disabled and unable to perform normal work. Beyond 2 years, employee must be totally disabled an unable to perform any occupation.
AD&D: Same as life insurance.
Life insurance: Employer pays premium for two times employee’s annual earnings rounded up to the next $1,000. Reduced to $10,000 at age 65 and ceases at age 70.
Pension: Employee and employer pay 4% of applicable wages into plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 working days with pay for death of spouse, same-sex partner, parent, legal guardian, child, step-child. 4 working days with pay for death of sibling, grandparent, parent-in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law, or grandchild. 1 working day with pay for death of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, step-parent, or grandparent-in-law. Additional unpaid leave may be granted for travel outside the province.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months.
Probationary period: 640 hours worked. May be extended with mutual agreement between employer and union.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for disciplinary action including letters of reprimand or adverse reports, 18 months following a suspension.
