Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2027. Ratified in xx 20xx. Signed on xx
Shift premium: $2 per session for employees who meet or exceed 120 hours of premium training in a month or in the fiscal quarter. $1 per session in each month an employee meets or exceeds 110 hours of premium training.
Paid holidays: 9 days.
Vacations with pay: 10 days to start, 15 days after 5 years.
Medical benefits: Optional participation in employer’s health and welfare plan for employees working an average of 20 hours per week for 3 consecutive months. Employer pays 50% of premiums
Sick leave: Get Well/Volunteer Days (for illness, injury, medical emergency, urgent family matter, medical appointments, mental health needs, volunteering activities): 2 days to start, 3 days after 2 years, 4 days after 4 years, 5 days after 6 years.
LTD: Optional participation in LTD plan for employees working an average of 20 hours per week for 3 consecutive months. Employer pays 50% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 3 consecutive working days for death of spouse, common law spouse, parent, step-parent, parent-in-law, child, step-child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law. 1 paid working day for death of a relative other than an immediate family member. Monthly hours pro-rated to accommodate time spent without pay attending a client’s funeral, provided that the funeral is within the geographic area of the bargaining un it.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Probationary period: All new hires must complete Personal Trainer Base Camp and Goodlife Personal Training Institute within their first 75 days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.
Uniforms/clothing: Complimentary uniforms for personal trainers shall be distributed in accordance with the employer’s associate uniform policy.
Sample rates of pay:
Premium training: $25 (level 1) to $60 (level 7)
Partner training: $27.50 (level 1) to $83.50 (level 7)
PT starter/life changer: $20
Personal training alternatives and PT promotional sessions: $25-40
Team training/non-premium training: $16.55
Commissions: 10% for personal training contracts sold by employee, auto-renewal payments, team training contracts sold by employee. 5% for personal training alternative sessions sold by employee.
Editor’s notes: Employees receive an additional amount equivalent to 1.5 hours every week for: programming, client success sheets, weekly focus sheets, scheduling clients, correspondence to clients and management, workday administration.
All employees are required to have and maintain a valid Canadian Fitness Professionals Personal Training Specialist certification as well as a valid CPR A certification.
