Renewal agreement: The agreement is effective from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2027.
Wage adjustments:
May 1, 2024: 10%
May 1, 2025: 6%
May 1, 2026: 6%
Shift premium: $1.25 per hour for second shift starting at 4:30 p.m.; $1.35 per hour for third shift starting at 6:30 p.m. or later; $2 per hour for first shift on Saturdays starting at 6 a.m.; $2.50 per hour for second shift on Saturdays; $3 per hour for third shift on Saturdays.
Paid holidays: 15 days including 5 personal days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 20 years.
Overtime: Time-and-a-half for first 2 hours worked in excess of regular daily scheduled hours and all hours worked in excess of 40 per week. Double time for all hours after that, and all hours worked in excess of 48 hours per week.
Medical Benefits: Employer covers 100% of eligible extended health care expenses, including prescription drugs, private duty nursing (lifetime max $30,000), and paramedical practitioners (annual max $2,500 per family).
Dental: Coverage includes 100% basic services, 80% major services, and 50% orthodontics (lifetime max $6,000 per child). Maximum annual benefit starts at $750 in the first year and increases to $3,000.
Vision: $400 for dependents under 18 every 12 months; $450 for adults every 24 months. Laser eye surgery covered up to $1,000 once per lifetime.
Weekly indemnity: 70% of weekly earnings, max $1,000 for drivers, $980 max for warehouse, for up to 26 weeks.
Short-term disability: Covered under weekly indemnity benefits.
Long-term disability: $3,000 per month beginning 26 weeks from date of disability, payable for a maximum of 5 years for employees with less than 10 years of service, or until age 65 for those with 10+ years.
Life insurance: $100,000 for active members, $15,000 for eligible spouse, $10,000 for eligible child.
Pension: Employer contributes monthly to a Group RRSP, increasing from $650 (2024) to $700 (2026), plus a match up to $200. Employees may choose to join CAAT DBplus in April 2025.
Bereavement leave: 1 day for aunts/uncles; up to 3 days for in-laws, grandchild, grandparents; and up to 5 days for immediate family (spouse, child, parent, sibling).
Sick leave: Seniority employees receive 12 sick days (drivers) or 104 hours (warehouse). Unused days are reimbursed annually or converted to RRSP, TFSA, or vacation.
Seniority – recall rights: The lesser of length of service or 18 months.
Probationary period: 80 worked days. 90 calendar days for benefits eligibility.
Discipline: Employees falsifying leave requests or failing to return from leave within 3 days without valid reasons are subject to termination.
Severance: Two weeks per year of service for employees with less than five years; four weeks per year for those with 5+ years (max 18 months). Includes extended health benefits.
Mileage: Team drivers receive a per-kilometer rate of $0.4383.
