Renewal agreement: April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2027 

Wage adjustments:  

April 1, 2023: 3% 
April 1, 2024: 3% 
April 1, 2025: 3% 
April 1, 2026: 3% 

Shift premium: Time-and-a-half for first 3 hours of overtime worked before and after regular scheduled daily hours, double time for all hours after. Time-and-a-half for Sunday work at most locations; some branches move to straight time during summer months. 

Paid holidays: 12 days including two floater days. 

Vacations with pay: Full-time employees: 1 day for each month of service up to 10 days to start, 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 2 years, 20 days after 4 years, 25 days after 18 years. 

Overtime: Time-and-a-half for the first three hours, double time after that, or lieu time option. 

Meal allowance: Provided for full-time employees working three or more hours of overtime. 

Medical Benefits: Employer covers OHIP and extended health care, including drug card, mental health coverage, out-of-country insurance, and paramedical services. 

Dental: Basic dental covered at 100%, optional major restorative and orthodontic coverage at 50%. ODA fee guide updates annually.  

Vision: $450 every 24 months for vision care, including laser eye surgery; $75 for eye exams every two years. 

Short-term disability: Employer covers STD plan including up to 24 weeks of coverage of 75% to 100% of regular salary, depending on length of service. 

Long-term disability: Employer covers 50% of premium; max benefit of $10,000 per month. 

Life insurance: Employer covers 100% of premium for 2x annual salary up to $400,000; optional group life self-insured policy. 

Pension: OMERS pension plan with 50% employer contribution. 

Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of parent or ‘person in loco parentis’, spouse, child, or dependant. 3 paid days for death of sibling, step sibling, stepparent, sibling-in-law, parent-in-law, grandparents, or grandchild. 1 paid day for death of child-in-law, aunt, or uncle. 

Sick leave: Covered under Sickness & Disability plan, employer pays 100% of premium. 

Seniority – recall rights: 78 weeks from layoff; greater of 104 weeks or accrued sick leave credits for illness. 

Call-in pay: Minimum of three hours at overtime rates for full-time employees called back to work outside regular hours. 

Probationary period: 26 weeks for full-time employees, 390 hours of work for part-time employees. 

Safety shoes: Reimbursed up to $250 for CSA-approved green patch safety boots for eligible employees. 

Uniforms/clothing: Provided where deemed appropriate by the employer, with replacements at the employer’s discretion. 

Mileage: Paid for employer-approved business travel to employees using own car.

Data services clerk, Interlibrary loan assistant, Library assistant, Materials handling clerk/courier: $47,308 - $57,383 (2023) rising to $51,695 - $62,703 (2026) 

Librarian, Selector: $65,737 - $79,228 (2023) rising to $71,832 - $86,575 (2026) 

Program Coordinator, Makerspace coordinator, Senior librarian: $84,357 - $97,544 (2023) rising to $92,180 - $106,589 (2026)
