Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on March 22, 2018.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 1.75%

Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 1.75%

Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 2%

Shift premium: 10% for employee who works scheduled tour, any part of which falls between midnight and 6 a.m. 10% for employee who works scheduled tour, any part of which falls between 6 p.m. and midnight; for work on Saturday. Double time for all work on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve. Basic rate plus time and one-half for employee who works scheduled tour on Easter Sunday. Double time for employee who works scheduled tour on Mother’s Day. Time and one-half for employee who works scheduled tour, any part of which falls between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday. $70 per night for employees who stay overnight at location that does not provide normal access to community (drill ship; platform or floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO); survival facility; remote microwave/radio site), except when employees are permanently assigned to work at such locations.

Paid holidays: 10 days, plus 2 floating holidays (1 floating holiday in Newfoundland and Labrador), plus July 12 (observed by Newfoundland and Labrador employees only).

Vacations with pay: 10 days to start, 15 days (plus winter bonus if applicable) after 1 year, 20 days (plus winter bonus if applicable) after 9 years, 25 days (plus winter bonus if applicable) after 20 years, 30 days (plus winter bonus if applicable) after 25 years.

Overtime: Double time for all overtime between midnight and 7 a.m.; between 7 a.m. and midnight Sunday; on scheduled day of rest; after 4 hours of overtime; in excess of 12 hours per 24-hour period. Time and one-half for all work after regular hours. Time may be banked, maximum 80 hours at any one time.

Meal allowance: $15 after 2 hours of overtime; $15 for each subsequent 4 hours worked.

Sick leave: 8 days per year.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, employee’s father and mother, spouse and common-law partner of father or mother, employee’s children, children of employee’s spouse or common-law partner, employee’s son-in-law or daughter-in-law, employee’s grandchildren, employee’s brothers and sisters, grandfather and grandmother of the employee, father and mother of spouse or common-law partner of employee, spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, any relative who resides with employee). Employees may be granted paid time off to attend the funeral of individual who is not immediate family member (requests will not be unreasonably made or denied).

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for layoffs; 12 months (in any 18-month period) for employees who serve in non-bargaining unit capacity.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at basic wage rate.

Probationary period: First 6 months of employment.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.

Severance: 3 weeks’ pay for each year of service, maximum 78 weeks’ pay.

Safety shoes: $400 every 2 years for line boots (for employees who regularly climb). $250 for safety boots every 2 years. $200 for safety shoes every 2 years. $160 for rubber boots (line and splicing) every 2 years. Additional $40 may be made available for employees who justify need for fully waterproof protective footwear. Employees who work outside on regular basis will be supplied with or reimbursed for actual cost of winter boots, special winter clothing required for work in Labrador environment.

Editor’s notes: Relocation expenses: Maximum $5,000 (if employee has resided in new location for minimum 18 months) for employee whose bumping options require relocation to new reporting centre more than 60 kilometres from current reporting centre. Travel expenses: Breakfast: $11.50 for Bell Canada amount, $13.50 for Labrador and outside Atlantic Canada; Mid-tour meal: $15.50 for Bell Canada amount, $18.50 for Labrador and outside Atlantic Canada; Evening meal: $31 for Bell Canada amount, $37.25 for Labrador and outside Atlantic Canada; Miscellaneous: $9.75 for Bell Canada amount, $11.25 for Labrador and outside Atlantic Canada; Total: $67.75 for Bell Canada amount, $80.50 for Labrador and outside Atlantic Canada. Employees who do not return home and choose to be responsible for own accommodations will be entitled to claim living expenses of $75 per day ($50 per day for employees who choose to return home each night). Travel allowance: Amount equal to value of full fare (including all fees and surcharges) return economy air travel, as of Jan. 2 each year, between St. John’s and employee’s reporting centre or $1,000, whichever is greater, for employees who reside in Labrador and whose permanent reporting centre is in Labrador. Hardship allowance: $50 per night when employee stays overnight at locations in coastal Labrador north of Red Bay.
