Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2021. Signed on June 25, 2018.
Wage adjustments:

Shift premium: $2 per hour for employee hired before Jan. 25, 2013, for each hour worked between midnight Friday to midnight Saturday, if Saturday is scheduled as part of employee’s regular work-week. $2 per hour for employee hired after March 22, 2018, for each hour worked between midnight Friday to midnight Sunday, when hours are part of employee’s regular work week. $1.20 per hour for all hours worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Time and one-half for all hours worked for employee who works more than 3 consecutive Saturdays. $1 per hour to employees assigned as on-the-job trainers (excluding preceptors). $4 per day for any clerk who performs secretarial duties for any medical officer or PhD.
Paid holidays: 12 days, plus day before Christmas Day or day before New Year’s Day. 
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 4 years, 5 weeks after 10 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked by employee in excess of averaging period.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 
Dental: Employer pays 66 2/3% of premiums, employee pays 33 1/3% of premiums. Coverage of 50% reimbursement for costs, maximum $1,500 per covered member per year. 
Vision: $250 per person (previously $200 per person) in any 24 months (frames, lenses, laser). 1 eye exam every 2 years (reasonable and customary cost).
Paramedical: $500 per person per year for psychologist, chiropractor, osteopath, naturopath, podiatrist, speech therapist, massage therapist, physiotherapist.
Pension: Employees must participate in CBS Defined Benefit Pension plan. 
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, same-gender relationships (maintained at least 1 year), child, mother, father, brother, sister, legal guardian, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in- law, father-in-law, son- in-law, daughter-in-law, stepparent, stepchild. 1 day for attending funeral of sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparent-in-law, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew. Additional time off with or without pay may be granted under extenuating circumstances. 
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. 
Call-in pay: Time and one-half for all hours worked or 4 hours’ pay at straight time, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 5 calendar months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 1 week’s pay per year, maximum 26 weeks for employees hired before Jan. 29, 2015; 2 weeks’ pay per year, maximum 52 weeks for employees hired after Jan. 29, 2015.
Safety shoes: $110 every 2 years (previously $100 every 2 years) to all employees, excluding drivers and shipper/ receivers, for safety footwear. 
Uniforms/clothing: $175 per year for donor services representatives, clinic assistants, phlebotomists for uniforms. $55 per year for donor services representatives, clinic assistants, phlebotomists, drivers and utility persons for cleaning of uniforms and clothing worn while loading and unloading equipment. Employer will supply drivers, logistics attendants, shipper/receivers with new uniforms or clothing when required. $115 per year for drivers, logistics attendants and shipper/receivers for safety boots, gloves. Laboratory assistants will be supplied with lab coat.

Editor’s notes: Staff meetings: Employee who attends mandatory staff meeting will be guaranteed minimum of 2 hours’ pay at regular rate. No meetings will be mandatory on days off. On-call pay: $2.75 per hour Monday to Saturday and $3.25 per hour on Sundays and holidays for employee assigned to on-call duty, outside scheduled working hours, and who must respond without delay to request to return to duty. Taxi fare: $65 when clinic assistant, phlebotomist, donor-services representative, driver, returns to centre from out-of-town clinic after 10:30 p.m. for taxi fare to place of residence. $65 when laboratory assistant, data-entry clerk works past 10:30 p.m. for taxi fare to place of residence. Travel meals: $7.45 for breakfast; $11 for lunch; $16 for dinner for employees away from centre on mobile-clinic assignments. Medical certificate: Maximum $100 will be reimbursed to drivers every 24 months to obtain medical certificate for renewal of required driver’s license. Hearing aids: $300 per person in any 5 consecutive calendar years.
