Shift premium: 4% when employee, on acting basis, performs substantially duties of position at higher salary range
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month to start, 1 2/ days per month after 5 years, 2 1/12 days per month after 21 years, 2 2/3 days per month after 28 years. Employee may carry over unused credits, maximum 30 days, from 1 fiscal year to next fiscal year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours per day or 37.5 hours per week. Time and one-half for all work on first day or rest; double time thereafter. Double time for all work on second day of rest (except when employee is requested to work on first day of rest and, to meet convenience of employee’s own personal plans, is allowed to work instead on second day of rest, employee will be compensated at time and one-half for first 7.5 hours and double time thereafter). May be taken as compensatory leave (unused leave will be paid in cash on last day of fiscal year in which it is earned). Double time for all work on Sunday.
Medical benefits: Coverage will be provided under Government of Canada Public Service Health Care plan.
Dental: Coverage will be provided under public service dental care plan.
Sick leave: 1 1/4 days for each month during which employee receives minimum 10 days’ pay. May be accumulated. Credits earned but unused will be restored to employee whose employment was terminated due to end of specified period of employment and who is re-appointed within 1 year from end of period.
STD: Public Service Disability Plans.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law partner resident with employee, child, child of common-law partner, stepchild, ward of employee, grandchild, grandparent, spouse’s parents, any relative residing in employee’s household). Additional 3 days for travel related to death. 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle.
Call-in pay: Greater of compensation at applicable overtime rate or compensation equivalent to 3 hours’ pay at applicable overtime rate (minimum of 3 hours’ pay will apply only first time that employee reports for work during 8 hours, starting with employee’s first reporting) when called in on day of rest. Greater of minimum 3 hours of pay at applicable overtime rate or paid at applicable rate of overtime for time worked, when employee is called in to work after employee has completed work for day and has left place of work).
Probationary period: 6 months from date of hire (employer may extend probationary period for up to 3 additional months).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for any document or written statement related to disciplinary action.
Severance: 2 weeks’ pay for first year of employment; 1 week’s pay for each year of service on first layoff. 1 week’s pay for each year of employment, less previous severance payment, on second layoff.
