Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2020. Signed on Oct. 22, 2017.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective July 1, 2017: 2%
Effective July 1, 2018: 2% or COLA, whichever is higher
Effective July 1, 2019: 2% or COLA, whichever is higher
Vacations with pay: 6% per pay. 
Overtime: Double time regular day rate for days in excess of 196 days per year. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will contribute 11.34% (previously 10%), employee will contribute 6.66% (previously 8.25%) to group RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 7 days for death in immediate family (spouse, son, daughter, mother, father). 4 days for death of brother, sister, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. 
Probationary period: 90 sea days, excluding lay-up. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Severance: 4 days’ pay per year of service, maximum 60 days. 
Safety shoes: $140 per year (previously $120 per year) footwear allowance.
Uniforms/clothing: Mates will receive: 2 pairs of ordinary coveralls per year; 1 pair of insulated coveralls or winter jacket and pants; 2 pairs of thermal underwear per year; 1 floater suit renewed as required; 1 set of rain gear renewed as required; 1 hard hat as required; 1 balaclava replaced as required; work gloves as required; any other PPE that may be required by employer; $100 per year uniform allowance. Engineers/electricians will receive: 2 pairs of ordinary coveralls per year replaced if required; 1 pair of insulated coveralls or winter jacket and pants replaced as required; 2 pairs of thermal underwear per year; floater suits and rain gear as required (while working on deck in inclement weather); 1 hard hat as required; 1 balaclava replaced as required; work gloves as required; 1 hearing protector as required; any other PPE that may be required by employer; $100 per year uniform allowance.

Second mate/third engineer: $94,765.24 
Third mate/jr engineer: $84,255.21

Editor’s notes: Medical fitness: Right of officer to employment with employer will be conditional upon officer being declared medically fit by company doctor. Employer may cause officer to be medically examined at any time and employer will be responsible for all costs associated with medical. Seniority bonus system: $1,000 per year of service — maximum 12 years (previously maximum 10 years) — at which point bonus will be paid at maximum rate for each year of service in excess of 12 years. Marine disaster: $2,000 for officers who suffer loss of personal effects because of wreck or marine disaster. Education/certificate upgrading: Permanent officer — after 2 years of service — will be entitled to one-time bonus for each time employee receives higher Transport Canada Certificate of Competency. Following each paid bonus by employer, 1-year return service is required. Bonus will be paid as follows: $2,500 for chief-mate: $2,500 for second-class motor: $3,000 for captain: $3,000 for first-class motor.
