Renewal agreement: Effective March 11, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on March 31, 2017.
Shift premium: $0.60 per hour for evening shift. $0.70 per hour for night shift. $0.85 per hour for production, maintenance lead-man differentials. Effective Jan. 1, 2019: $0.15 per hour increase for all premiums.
Paid holidays: 9 days, plus 2 floating holidays.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 13 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all work on Saturday. Double time for all work on Sunday. May be banked, maximum 40 hours. Unused banked hours will be paid out each December.
Meal allowance: $10 if overtime extends beyond 2 hours.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Blue Cross medical coverage.
Weekly indemnity: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 5 days per year.
Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will set up group RSP plan and deduct and remit employee contributions. Employer will contribute $1.50 per hour (previously $1.15 per hour) per employee to defined contribution registered pension plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, father, mother. 3 days for death of brother, sister, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law. 1 day for death of grandparent, sister-in-law, brother-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months after 1 year of seniority; 6 months before 1 year of seniority.
Call-in pay: Hours worked at overtime rate of 4 hours’ at regular rate, whichever is most advantageous to employee.
Probationary period: 60 working days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.
Severance: After 12 months of service: 1 week’s pay for each of first 10 years of service, 2 weeks’ per year of service thereafter, maximum 26 weeks.
Safety shoes: $300 per year for employees working more than 24 hours per week. Pants, jackets, shirts or coveralls may be substituted if footwear not needed. $100 extra for maintenance personnel.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply 4 pairs of gloves per year.
