CN police association members ratify new contract

Six-year deal runs to 2023

Canadian National (CN) announced that members of the Canadian National Railways Police Association (CNRPA) ratified a new collective agreement with the company on Jan. 24.

The six-year agreement — effective Jan. 1, 2018 through Dec. 31, 2023 — covers CN Police officers across Canada.

"Our mutual dedication to reaching an agreement demonstrates our ability to work together in the best interests of CN and the CNRPA's membership," said Stephen Covey, chief of police and chief security officer at CN.

"The new agreement, its strong ratification and the process of negotiating it underscore the effectiveness of the dialogue our association has with the company," said Wayne Telcs, CNRPA national secretary.

CN employs about 24,000 railroaders and transports more than $250 billion worth of goods annually for a range of business sectors — ranging from resource products to manufactured products to consumer goods — across a rail network of approximately 20,000 route-miles spanning Canada and mid-America.
