Fort McMurray, Alta. (440 bus drivers) and Teamsters Canada, Local 362

Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2016, to Dec. 31, 2018. Signed on June 30, 2016.
Shift premium: All trips on Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and New Years’ Day will include a 50% premium on the trip rate. $1.50 per hour for all Syncrude shifts beginning between 9 p.m. and 4:59 a.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days. 
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 5 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 8 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 18 weeks.
Overtime: Time and one-half after regular hours. May be banked, maximum 120 hours per year. 
Medical benefits: Effective Jan. 1, 2018, employer will pay 100% of premiums (previously 80%) for Prairie Teamsters Health and Welfare Plan (90% paid effective Jan. 1, 2017). Employer pays 50% or premiums for Alberta Health and Wellness.
Pension: Teamsters Prairie Provinces’ Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law, stepmother, stepfather, mother, father, guardian, sons, daughters, stepchild, brothers, sisters, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren, any other immediate family recognized under the Canadian Labour Code).
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months. 
Probationary period: 90 days. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 6 months for operational matters, 24 months for preventable accidents and infractions covered under the Highway Traffic Act.
Safety shoes: $150 per year.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 1 jacket, 2 ties, 3 pants, 3 shirts, 1 uniform cap. $300 per year for other approved uniform clothing purchase.

Syncrude/Suncor coach 3-hour trip rate: $124.41
Albian/Aurora coach 4-hour trip rate: $165.89
Hourly coach rate: $35.86
3-hour trip Y3: $104.77
Hourly Y1: $34.45
Regular drivers: $34.52
Probationary drivers: $26.33
Editor’s notes: PDIC certification: As a requirement of continued employment, all employees must acquire and maintain certification in an accepted PDIC program or a recognized equivalent. The company will pay the fees required on behalf of all employees. Leave of absence: All employees with 25 or more years of service, will receive 90 consecutive days leave of absence per year. Teamster Local 362 advancement fund: Employer will deduct $0.05 per hour per employee for the fund. Local living allowance: To offset living expenses in Fort McMurray: $1,000 per month (previously $1,325 per month).
