Renewal agreement: Effective June 17, 2021 to June 30, 2023. Signed on June 21, 2021.
Shift premium: Employee will be paid at time and one-half rate for hours worked on first shift of changed schedule when employer does not give 1 week of advance notice of schedule change. $2 per hour to employees where majority of hours worked are between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $2 per hour to employees where majority of hours worked are between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $2 per hour to employees where majority of hours worked are between 6 a.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. on Monday.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 20 days after 1 year, 25 days after 10 years, 30 days after 20 years for occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, recreational therapists, dieticians, who will also receive 1-time supplementary vacation of 5 work-days at major milestones: 25 years; 30 years; 35 years; 40 years of continuous service. 10 days to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 15 years, 30 days after 25 years, for all other classifications. Time cannot be carried forward and unused time will be paid out at end of 12-month period.
Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked which are greater than daily regular hours (7.75 hours); weekly regular hours (38.75 hours) averaged over pay period. Employee may bank overtime, maximum 40 hours at any given time. Banked overtime must be used by Dec. 31 each year or it will be paid out.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employees pay 25% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month, maximum 120 days. Unused sick leave is not paid out.
Pension: Employer will provide group RRSP for occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, recreational therapists, dieticians. Employer will match employee contribution, maximum 3%. Employer will match employee contribution, maximum 2% for all other classifications.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, children, stepchildren, parents, stepparents, brothers, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepsister, stepbrother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents, stepgrandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews (relationships are deemed to include current common-law relationships of employee)). Additional 2 days if employee has to travel more than 400 kilometres from Edmonton.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours at basic rate or applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 504 hours worked following commencement of each period of continuous service.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for written disciplinary actions.
Severance: 2 weeks for each year of service calculated up to date of layoff, at regular rate for regular hours employee would have earned if employee had worked scheduled work days in 1 week, maximum 40 weeks of severance pay.
