Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2014, to Dec. 31, 2017. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2014: 1.8% Effective Jan. 1, 2015: 2.4% Effective Jan. 1, 2016: 3.5% Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 4% Shift premium: 90¢ per hour for all hours worked on a Sun- day, $1 per hour effective Jan. 1, 2017. Effective Jan. 1, 2015, em- ployees hired to work Sundays as part of a regular work sched- ule shall not receive a premium but 2 consecutive days off as part of their schedule. 75¢ per hour for all hours worked be- tween midnight and 7 a.m., 85¢ per hour effective Jan. 1, 2017. Paid holidays: 11 days plus 1 floater. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks af- ter 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. For full-time profes- sional librarians, effective April 1, 2012: 4 weeks after 1 year, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 7 per day or 35 per week. Sick leave: 105 hours earned bi-weekly, may accumulate up to 1,050 yearly. Full-time employees with more than 1 year of service may extend their sick leave up to 10 days. Upon their return, the employee will repay the extension at the rate of 1 day per month. Up to 5 days may be used to tend to the illness of an immediate family member. Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan. Employer to pro- vide up to $200 for pre-retire- ment counselling programs. Bereavement leave: 5 days for the death of an employee’s mother, father, brother, sister, wife, husband, common-law spouse, spouse equivalent, child, foster child, guardian, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent or grandchild. Spouse equivalent defined as a same-sex relationship of at least 1 year. Up to 2 additional days if travel for the funeral is required. Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay at straight time rate for part-time staff, minimum 2 hours’ pay at overtime rate for full-time employees. Probationary period: 910 hours. Safety shoes: $150 per year to purchase steel-toed boots for full and part-time drivers, building maintenance assis- tants, mechanical maintenance assistants and shop supervisors. Mileage: No employee will be required to use a personal vehicle on library business. If an employee elects to use their personal vehicle which takes them to another location, reimbursement will be made at minimum rates established by the Canada Revenue Agency, including parking fees.
