Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2025. Signed on May 1, 2021.
Wage adjustments:
Effective May 1, 2021: $0.60 per hour
Effective May 1, 2022: $0.85 per hour
Effective May 1, 2023: $0.90 per hour
Effective May 1, 2024: $0.70 per hour
Shift premium: $1 per hour for employee whose scheduled shift is between 1:01 a.m. and 2:59 a.m. $1 per hour for each shift worked as trainer.
Paid holidays: 12 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, 1 floater day.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month of employment, maximum 10 days, to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 18 years, 6 weeks after 25 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 or 10 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for work on sixth or seventh day or week for 5-day workweek employees; fifth, sixth or seventh for 4-day workweek employees.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $667 per month (previously $610 per month) to Ontario Teamsters Benefit Trust Fund Benefit Plan.
Pension: DB or DC plan, after 24 months of employment.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (parents, spouse’s parents, stepparents, spouse, grandparents, spouse’s grandparents, children, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren).
Probationary period: 1,040 hours of work.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for any adverse statements, warnings, reprimands or suspensions. If employee goes off on leave of absence or disability leave during 12-month period, discipline will be paused and time duration will resume once employee returns to work.
Severance: 4 weeks’ notice or notice under Employment Standards Act, whichever is greater; 1 week’s pay at regular non-overtime rate per year of service, maximum 26 weeks, if employee has been employed for 5 years.
Safety shoes: $200 once every 2 years (previously $175 once every 2 years), in January, for black, polishable boots or shoes, which must be CSA-approved.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will furnish and pay for uniforms for employees as required.

Editor’s notes: Standby: $60 flat-rate. Overnight stays: On operations which are overnight or out for more than 1 day, allowances will apply for second and all subsequent days: $15 for breakfast; $20 for lunch; $25 for dinner. Hearing aids: $500 every 5 consecutive years per covered person.
