Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2021. Ratified on Aug. 28, 2019. Signed on Sept. 16, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2019: 2.5%
Effective July 1, 2020: 2.5%
Shift premium: 12% for employee who assume responsibilities of non-union positions; additional 2% after 6 months in non-union position, maximum 14% total. $3 per hour for amended hours if employer amends part-time employee’s schedule with less than 10 calendar days’ written notice.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month, maximum 15 days, or 6% to start, 1.67 days per month, maximum 20 days, or 8% after 6 years, 2.08 days per month, maximum 25 days, or 10% after 16 years, 2.5 days per month, maximum 30 days, or 12% after 24 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours per day or 37.5 hours per week. May be banked, maximum 37.5 hours. Banked overtime accumulated between April 1 and Sept. 30, must be taken no later than March 31 of following year. Banked overtime accumulated between Oct. 1 and March 31 must be taken no later than following Sept. 30.
Meal allowance: $25 for employees who work more than 3 hours of overtime, when overtime is extension of day’s work. Additional meal allowance for each additional 3-hour period.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Sick leave: 1.25 days per month, maximum 15 days per year. May be accumulated, maximum 25 days, and may be carried forward from 1 year to next. Employee will be allowed maximum 15 hours per year to attend medical or personal appointments.
STD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Coverage of maximum 105 days at 80% of regular pay.
LTD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Coverage of 65% of regular pay after 105 days on STD.
AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will contribute matching funds, maximum 5% of gross earnings, for employees after 9 months of service to RRSP held in employer’s name.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in family (common-law spouse, same-sex partner, spouse, child, brother, sister, parent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, aunt, uncle, grandchild, grandparents). Additional 2 days if travel of more than 300 kilometres is required.
Seniority – recall rights: Consecutive 36-month period for employees on short-term disability, long-term disability. 12 months for employees on continuous layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at overtime rates or actual hours worked at overtime rates, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 12 months for schedule A employees; 6 months for schedule B employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for disciplinary notices, letters; 24 months for discipline that includes suspension.
Severance: 2 weeks’ current salary plus 1 week’s salary for every year of service (maximum 26 weeks) plus 1 weeks’ salary for employees older than 49. Outplacement services: $2,500 package for employees younger than 50; $3,500 package for employees older than 49. Casual employees: 2 week’s pay in lieu of notice (based on average weekly hours worked over 1 year).
