Renewal agreement: Effective March 31, 2018, to March 31, 2020. Signed on March 31, 2018.
Shift premium: $2.30 per hour for each hour worked between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. $2.55 per hour for each hour worked between 12:01 a.m. Saturday and midnight Sunday.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus one-half day each for Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve. 3 other days in lieu of St. George’s, St. Patrick’s Day, Discovery Day.
Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month, maximum 15 days after 1 year, 1 2/3 days per month, maximum 20 days after 8 years, 25 days after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular hours. May be taken as time off in lieu of pay, no later than 30 days after time worked.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Sick leave: 2 days per month of service, maximum 320 days during any consecutive 20-year period of service, maximum 240 days for employee hired after May 4, 2004.
Pension: Employer will provide either government pension plan or government money-purchase plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of mother, father, brother, sister, child, spouse, common-law spouse, children of common-law spouse, legal guardian, grandmother, grandfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchild, stepfather, stepmother, stepchild, near relative living in same household. 1 day for death of sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law. Additional 2 days when death occurs outside province. Additional 2 days where extraordinary circumstances prevail.
Seniority – recall rights: 2 years.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay.
Probationary period: 120 days of work.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: After 1 year of service, number of years of service, multiplied by weekly salary, maximum 20 week’s pay.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide all required protective clothing and equipment to employees.
