Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2025.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2022: 4%
Effective April 1, 2023: 5.5% - 6.75%.
Effective April 1, 2022: 2% - 3%
Shift premium: As of April 1, 2023, $1.56 for afternoon shift, and $1.67 for night shift. Rates for April 1, 2024, TBD.
Paid holidays: 13 days.
Vacations with pay: x weeks to start, x weeks after x years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for the first two hours of overtime on a regularly scheduled workday. Double-time for hours worked in excess of two hours. Double-time for all hours worked on a day of rest.
Medical benefits: Public Service Medical Plan. Employer pays 100% of the regular premium.
Dental: Employer pays the monthly premium for employees. Orthodontic services are subject to a lifetime maximum payment of $3,500 per patient.
Sick leave: Up to five days of paid illness or injury leave for employees employed for ninety consecutive days.
LTD: Employees must submit their LTD Plan application within four weeks following the end of the STIIP period.
Life insurance: Group life plan with benefits equivalent to three times an employee's annual salary, with a minimum of $100,000.
Pension: Public Service Pension Plan
Bereavement leave: Leave shall not normally exceed five workdays. The leave will include the date of the funeral or the date of death with and, if necessary, an allowance for immediate return travelling time.
Severance: Employee will not receive an amount greater than 12 months current salary.
Uniforms/clothing: Preference given to BC suppliers when clothing or wearing apparel is purchased by the employer.
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
Two-year Apprenticeship Program: 1st year 65% of certified journeyman rate; 2nd year 90% of certified journeyman rate.
Editor’s notes: Callout Compensation: An employee who is called back to work outside their regular working hours shall be compensated for a minimum of three hours at overtime rates.
