Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on March 7, 2019.

Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for stewards. $1 per hour for lead-hands (crane work scope not applicable for lead-hand designation).

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 4% of each paycheque; 6% after 5 years of service.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.

Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $1.82 per hour into health and welfare plan.

Dental: Coverage of 100%, maximum $2,000 per person per year, for basic services. Coverage of 50%, maximum $2,000 per person per year, for comprehensive services. Coverage of 50%, maximum $3,000 lifetime for dependants younger than 19, for orthodontic services.

Vision: Coverage of $300 every year for dependants younger than 21; $300 every 2 years for dependants, employees older than 21.

Paramedical: Maximum $50 per visit (doctor’s referral required) for massage therapy.

STD: Coverage of 60% weekly basic earning, maximum $600 per week, payable after first day of accident or hospitalization; 14th day of illness, maximum 119 days.

LTD: Coverage of 60% weekly basic earning, maximum $2,600 per month, payable after 119 days.

AD&D: Coverage of $100,000 (previously $60,000).

Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000 (previously $60,000).

Pension: Employer will contribute $1 per hour to union-sponsored group RSP.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse (including common-law), children. 3 days for death of mother, father, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law. Further time off, without pay, may be taken by mutual agreement between employee and employer.

Safety shoes: All employees will wear CSA-approved safety footwear where required, to be furnished by employee.

Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear safety hats, safety glasses which will be supplied by employer. Quality (rubber) ear plugs will be provided by employer. Gloves will be supplied by employer if determined in pre-job agreement. Employer will furnish coveralls for mechanics, welders, servicemen, maximum 3 pairs per year.

Tool allowance: $1 per hour mechanics/millwrights (and apprentices) who supply own tools.

Editor’s notes: New hires: $1.50 less per hour than stipulated rate until operator is certified when new employee is hired to operate specific classification of equipment (anticipated time frame for certification is defined as 168 hours). Meeting pay: $20 to committee members for each time attending union-management meetings held outside of regular working hours. Education and training fund: Employer will contribute $0.03 per hour to union education fund. Training trust fund: Employer will contribute $0.05 per hour to training trust fund.
