Renewal agreement: Effective March 13, 2023 to March 12, 2027. Signed on April 25, 2023.
Shift premium: $1.25 per hour (previously $1 per hour) over highest rate supervised for lead-hand. $50 per month for employees who work on rotating 2-shift acetylene schedule. $1.25 per hour for employees who work after 6 p.m. and before 6 a.m. $1.25 per hour while performing training duties.
Paid holidays: 12 days, including National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Overtime: Time and one-half for any hours worked after 8 and up to 12 in any 1 day for 8-hour shifts; double time after 12 hours of work in 1 day. Double time for work on scheduled day off.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
STD: Minimum 1 week per year of service at full rate of pay, maximum 18 weeks.
Seniority – recall rights: 9 consecutive months after layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at time and one-half.
Probationary period: 90 calendar days of employment.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for disciplinary notices.
Safety shoes: Employer will supply approved safety footwear to each employee from selected list from employer’s approved local supplier.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide hard hats of suitable type; gloves of suitable type; leather or rubber aprons; rubber boots; suitable winter clothing for employees required to work outside; rainwear protection for truck drivers and cylinder handlers. Drivers clothing will be replaced every 2 years: 5 shirts, 3 pants, 1 winter jacket, 1 summer jacket, 1 winter pants (insulated).

Editor’s notes: Personal days off: 5 unpaid days off per year after employee has completed probation. Ear protection: Employer will provide custom-fit earplugs for employees who have preference for such type of hearing protection. Employees are eligible to receive earplugs after 1 year of service. Ear plugs will be replaced every 3 years. Longevity premium: Employees will receive $575 lump-sum payment in December of anniversary year, after 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, 35 years, 40 years.
