Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2021. Ratified in March 2021. Signed on July 12, 2021.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 2.8%

Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2.2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 1.5%

Shift premium: $2.25 per hour (formerly $2 per hour) for all hours worked between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m., including overtime hours. $2 per hour for work on Saturday or Sunday.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours for each calendar month receiving 75 hours’ pay to start, 12.5 hours per calendar month receiving 75 hours’ pay after 8 years, 13.125 hours per calendar month receiving 75 hours’ pay after 15 years, 13.75 hours per calendar month after 16 years, 14.375 hours per calendar month after 17 years, 15.625 hours per calendar month after 18 years, 16.875 hours per calendar month after 27 years, 18.75 hours per calendar month after 28 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked in excess of 37.5 in 1 week. Double time for each hour worked after 15 hours in any 24-hour period or after 7.5 hours on employee’s first day of rest and all hours worked on second or subsequent day of rest. Time and one-half for all hours worked on holiday up to regular daily scheduled hours of work and double time thereafter.

Meal allowance: $12 (formerly $10.25) when employee who works 3 or more hours of overtime, except where free meals are provided. Another $12 after additional 4 hours of overtime are worked.

Sick leave: 9.375 hours for each calendar month for which employee receives pay for at least 75 hours. Up to 112.5 hours may be granted in advance, 187.5 hours if application for injury-on-duty leave is pending.

Bereavement leave: 7 consecutive calendar days or 2 periods of up to 5 working days for death of parent, stepparent, foster-parent, sibling, stepsibling, spouse, common-law spouse, child, child of common-law partner, stepchild, foster-child, ward of employee, grandchild, parent-in-law, child-in-law, grandparent, relative permanently residing in employee’s household, person who stands in place of relative whether or not there is any blood relation. 1 paid day for death of sibling-in-law, aunt, uncle, grandparent-in-law. Up to 3 additional paid days may be granted for travel related to death.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at straight time to maximum of 8 hours’ pay in 8-hour period or overtime rate for time worked, whichever is greater.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.

Severance: On first layoff, 2 weeks’ pay after 1 year of continuous employment, 3 weeks’ pay for employees with 10 years of continuous employment, 4 weeks’ pay for employees with 20 years of continuous employment. In addition, 1 week’s pay for each additional complete year of continuous employment and portion of 1 week’s pay for additional partial week of pay. On second or subsequent layoff, 1 week’s pay for each complete year of continuous employment plus 1 partial week’s pay for partial year of employment, less any period in which employee was granted severance pay under first layoff. Employee death: If employee dies, employer will pay to employee’s estate 1 week’s pay for each complete year of employment plus 1 partial week’s pay for any additional partial year of employment, up to 30 weeks’ pay.

Editor’s notes: Compressed work week: Upon request of employee and concurrence of employer, employee may complete weekly hours of employment in period of other than 5 full days provide that over a period of 28 calendar days employee works average of 37.5 hours per week. Standby: 1 half-hour of pay for each period of up to 4 hours for standby duty.
