Composite index increased 1.6 per cent over the year
Canada’s Construction Union Wage Rate Index remained unchanged in November 2011 compared with October, according to Statistics Canada. This is the third month in a row the rate has remained unchanged.
November’s composite index increased by 1.6 per cent compared with November 2010.
In September, the most recent month for which numbers are available, the average hourly wage rate for construction workers was $26.83, according to Statistics Canada. Last month’s average hourly wage rate was $26.32.
The Construction Union Wage Rate Index series measures monthly changes over time in the collective agreement hourly rates, where they exist, for 16 trades engaged in building construction in 22 metropolitan areas.
