Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2025.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2022: 4.75%

Effective April 1, 2023: 3.5%

Effective September 1, 2023: 1.75% (Applied to Max Rate) Registered Technologist and above

Effective April 1, 2024: 3%

Shift premium: $2.06 per hour for each hour within the normal hours of the evening shift and $2.49 for each hour within the normal hours of the night shift provided that such hours exceed 2 hours if worked in conjunction with the day shift.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 3 years, 5 weeks after 12 years, 6 weeks after 20 years, 7 weeks after 27 years.

Overtime: Time and one half.

Meal allowance: $4 for an employee who continues to work more than 2 hours of overtime immediately following their scheduled hours.

Medical benefits: The hospital shall pay 75% of the billed premium under the Extended Health Care Plan (Liberty Health).

Dental: The hospital shall pay 75% of the billed premiums towards coverage of eligible employees under the Liberty Health Dental Plan #9 (or its equivalent).

Vision: $450 every 24 months per person with the option to use coverage toward the cost of laser surgery, as of April 1, 2024.

Paramedical: Chiropractic, massage therapy and physiotherapy to a maximum of $300 per insured person annually for each service

Sick leave: Employees shall accumulate sick leave credits.

STD: Short-term sick leave plan at least equivalent to that described in the 1992 Hospitals of Ontario Disability Income Plan (HOODIP) brochure.

LTD: The hospital will pay 75% of the billed premium under the long-term disability plan (HOODIP or equivalent); employees shall pay the balance of the billed premiums through payroll deduction.

Life insurance: The hospital shall pay 100% toward the monthly premium of HOOGLIP or other equivalent group life insurance plan.

Pension: Hospital Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: Up to 4 days for a parent, spouse, child or spouse’s child.

Probationary period: 90 tours.

Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):

Medical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Radiation Technologist, Biomedical Technologist (start rate): 34.56, up three steps to $36.84.

Pharmacy Technician (start rate): $30.31, up three steps to $32.32.

Editor’s notes: Effective April 1, 2024, a Health Care Spending Account for full-time active employees of $500.
