Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2013, to March 31, 2018. Signed Jan. 26, 2016.

Wage adjustments: 

April 1, 2016: 0.7% or 1%
Oct. 1, 2016: 0.7% or 1%
April 1, 2017: 0.7% or 1%
Oct. 1, 2017: 0.7% or 1%

Shift premium: Night: $0.50 per hour between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Night: $0.50 per hour between Friday 10 p.m. and Monday 6 a.m. RPN night and weekend: $0.50 per hour.

Paid holidays:  9 days. One and one-half pay for work on any holiday. 

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start or 4%, 3 weeks after 8,000 hours or 6%, 4 weeks after 18,000 hours or 8%.

Overtime:  One and one-half times regular rate after 88 hours bi-weekly.

Medical benefits: 1 credit per hour worked per month. Benefit program cost is 110 credits per month. 

Dental: 90% employer paid. Basic: 80% reimbursement, maximum $1,000 per year. 

Vision: $100 every 24 months.

Paramedical: $350 per practitioner per year (chiropractor, podiatrist, massage therapist, naturopath, osteopath, physiotherapist, speech therapist, psychologist).

AD&D: 100% employer paid, $50,000.

Life insurance: 100% employer paid, $50,000.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for immediate family (parent, child, brother, sister, spouse, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, common-law spouse, and same-sex partner). 1 day for other family (stepparent, stepchild or legal guardian). 1 day for spring funeral.

Probationary period:  480 hours. 

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for letter of reprimand, or 24 months for suspension (incidents involving client abuse, the record will remain on file if the complaint is not reversed through settlement or arbitration).

Mileage: Regular rate for travel time between clients. RPN will receive travel stipend of $5.30 per client where a mode of transportation is required.

Editor’s notes: Union leave: Leave of absence without pay for union conventions and/or educational sessions. No more than 3 employees absent at one time. Such leave must be applied for 2 weeks in advance. The total of all leaves for all employees shall not exceed 20 days per year. Unpaid leave of absence for union business up to 2 years. Education leave: Regular wages for attendance at course or seminar. Employer shall pay costs . Orthopaedic shoes: $400 annual maximum. Hearing aids: $300 every 5 years. Travel time: Workers paid regular rate for reasonable actual travel time between clients. $5.30 maximum for travel expenses, where mode of transportation is required. Lump sum: 1.4% of straight time hourly rate for the period April 1, 2013, to March 31, 2014.
