Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to April 30, 2018. Ratified on Dec. 21, 2017. Signed on Feb. 20, 2018.
Shift premium: $0.25 per hour for any shift between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Monday to Sunday. $0.50 per hour for any day shift between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. $2 per hour for all hours worked in any out-of-scope position for 1 hour or more.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 blocks after 1 year, 3 blocks after 3 years, 4 blocks after 7 years, 5 blocks after 10 years. (Block is defined as 4 days of work).
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work beyond full-time employee’s regular schedule. Part-time, casual employees will be paid at overtime rate when hours worked exceed 12 hours per day or when hours worked exceed 84 hours per pay period.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 12 days per year, cannot be carried over to following year. If employee does not use any sick days, employee will be credited with additional block of vacation entitlement for following year.
STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums for 66 2/3% of annual salary to age 65.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 48 hours for death of immediate family member (parents, spouse (same-sex included), common-law spouse, fiancé(e), brothers, sisters, children (including step, foster- and ward), parent-in-laws, grandparents, grandchildren). 36 hours for death of extended family member (aunts, uncles, former guardian, any relatives residing in employee’s household). 1 day to attend funeral as pallbearer.
Seniority – recall rights: 14 months (previously 12 months).
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at overtime rate.
Probationary period: 3 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months (previously 2 years).

Editor’s notes: Staff meetings: Employees who are scheduled to attend on off days will be paid 1-hour minimum for attendance at overtime rates for monthly staff meetings. Employees who attend staff meetings on work days will be paid at straight time with overtime rates applying for all hours worked beyond regularly scheduled hours. Critical illness leave: Every year, employee will be granted 48 hours of leave, without loss of pay and benefits, to care for immediate family members who are critically ill. Domestic-violence leave: Employees will be granted up to 10 days of unpaid leave per year without loss of benefits or seniority, if addressing situation of domestic violence.
