Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 1, 2016, to Nov. 30, 2018. Signed on Sept. 18, 2017.
Shift premium: $1 per hour for employee asked to perform duties of supervisory nature.
Paid holidays: 10 days (previously 9 days).
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per 7-day period.
Medical benefits: Yukon Building Trades Health and Welfare Plan. Employees pay 100% of premiums, plus administration fee of $20 per month.
Bereavement leave: 2 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, sister, brother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, spouse, son, daughter, stepchild, ward, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandchild). 2 additional days for travel outside Whitehorse, if required.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months.
Probationary period: As per Yukon employment standards legislation.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 36 months.
Severance: 2 weeks after less than 1 year of service, 3 weeks after 1 year of service, 4 weeks after 3 years of service, 5 weeks after 4 years of service, 6 weeks after 5 years of service, 7 weeks after 6 years of service, 8 weeks after 7 years of service.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide for all protective devices, clothing and other equipment necessary to properly protect employees from injury. Employer will also clean and maintain equipment and clothing.
