Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 1, 2018, to July 31, 2021. Ratified on Nov. 27. Signed on Jan. 15, 2019.
Shift premium: 5% for all hours worked on night shift.
Paid holidays: Employees will receive 4% of base wage rate on each paycheque for all regular hours paid, not including travel time, in lieu of holidays.
Vacations with pay: 6% of base wage rate for all regular hours paid (excluding travel time) on each paycheque.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 40 hours per week.
Meal allowance: One-half hour paid time or $25 for work beyond 12 hours per day.
Medical benefits: Employer will remit $1.42 per hour for all hours worked, maximum 175 hours per month, to union for Construction Industry’s Benefit Plan.
Pension: Employer will contribute 4% of employee’s base rate per hour for all hours worked, maximum 175 hours per month, to RRSP plan administered by union.
Bereavement leave: 3 shifts for death in immediate family (spouse, child, grandchild, mother, father, brother, sister, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law).
Call-in pay: 2 hours pay at time and one-half regular rate or for all hours worked, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 900 hours worked within 1 year.
Tool allowance: When employee breaks personal tool or personal tool is stolen, employer will replace tool at no cost to employee.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 2.8% increase):
Journeyperson, trade qualifier (10,000 hours or more)/skilled warehouse person: $38.48 rising 2 steps to $39.54
Fourth-year registered apprentice with approved documentation apprenticeship program/intermediate warehouse person: $34.63 rising 2 steps to $35.59
Third-year registered apprentice with approved documentation apprenticeship program: $30.78 rising 2 steps to $31.63
Second-year registered apprentice with approved documentation apprenticeship program/entry-level warehouse person: $26.94 rising 2 steps to $27.68
First-year registered apprentice with approved documentation apprenticeship program/labourer: $23.09 rising 2 steps to $23.72
