Renewal agreement: Effective March 28, 2018 to March 27, 2021. Signed on March 26, 2018.

Wage adjustments:

(For employees earning more than $16.38 per hour)

Effective year 1: 3%

Effective year 2: 3%

Effective year 3: 3%

Shift premium: $1.75 per hour (previously $1.25 per hour) for leads. $3 per hour (previously $2 per hour) for operations agents. $1 per hour for temporary instructors. $2 per hour for baggage agents. $2.25 per hour for flight coordinators. $2 per hour for ticketing. $0.45 per hour for shifts beginning on or after 10 p.m. up to and including 4 a.m.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time may be banked, maximum 120 hours for full-time employees, 80 hours for part-time employees. After 120 hours or 80 hours, all overtime will be paid out for balance of year. Employees who have less than 40 hours in time bank at end of year will have option of carrying these hours over to next year, maximum 40 hours.

Medical benefits: Employer will provide 100% of premiums for basic coverage under B.C. Medical Services Plan. Full-time employees will become eligible for benefit on the first day of month following completion of probation period.

Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums (after 60 months of service).

Vision: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums (after 60 months of service). Coverage of $300 every 24 months; $25 every 24 months for eye exams.

Sick leave: 5 days per year, paid at 75% of day’s wages, after 1 year of service. Unused credits may be accumulated and carried over to following year, maximum 10 days or at employee’s option be paid out at 75% at end of each year.

STD: Coverage of 75% weekly earnings, maximum 52 weeks.

AD&D: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums (after 60 months of service).

Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums (after 60 months of service).

Pension: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum $50 per month after 2 years of service to RRSP that will be set up through Sun Life. On Dec. 31 of each year, employees will have ability to transfer money from hourly overtime bank into RRSP as extra voluntary contribution.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (parent, spouse (common-law, same-sex), child, brother, sister, father or mother of spouse, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren of employee and spouse). 2 additional days off, without pay, for death of spouse, parent, child. Additional 14 days, without pay, for death in family outside of Canada.

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for layoffs.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ paid at appropriate overtime rate.

Probationary period: 120 calendar days.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year.

Severance: 4 days’ pay for each year of service, maximum 48 days’ pay, after 2 years of service.

Safety shoes: Employer will reimburse flight ops, baggage agents for CSA-approved safety shoes, maximum $110, every 24 months. Re-con agents will be provided with CSA-approved toe-cap when required.

Uniforms/clothing: All personnel who have completed training and who have direct contact with public will wear uniforms at all time while on duty. Employer will provide 1 complete uniform (2 jackets, 4 skirts or pants, 5 shirts, 2 ties or rosettes, 1 overcoat supplied on 50/50 cost share basis) to all new hires. Upon request employer will provide maximum 2 maternity jumpers for required period of pregnancy.

Start: $11.50 hourly rising 3 steps to $14.70

12 months: $11.50 rising 3 steps to $14.90

24 months: $13.10 rising 3 steps to $15.10

36 months: $13.90 rising 3 steps to $15.30

48 months: $14.50 rising 3 steps to $15.50

60 months: $15.50 rising 3 steps to $15.70

96 months $17.25 rising 3 steps to $18.05

Sample rates of hourly pay (current):

72 months: $16.50

84 months: $17

Editor’s notes: Hearing protection: Employer will provide CSA-standard hearing protection for each employee who performs duties on ramp or at bridges. Paid education leave: Employer will pay $0.03 per compensated hour worked into fund established by union for paid education leave. Social justice fund: Employer will pay $500 every March 31 into social justice fund.
