Renewal agreement: Effective June 29, 2023 to June 21, 2026.
Wage adjustments:
Effective June 22, 2022: 1.25%
Effective June 22, 2023: 0.5%
Shift premium: $2.25 per hour for an employee working on shifts, half or more of the hours of which are regularly scheduled between 4 pm and 8 am.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus one additional day in each year that is recognized as a territorial, provincial or civic holiday, and one additional day when proclaimed by an act of Parliament as a national holiday.
Vacations with pay: 15 days per year until the employee’s 7th year of service.
Overtime: Compensation for each 15-minute period at a rate of one half for the first 7.5 hours of overtime and at a rate of double time for all hours in excess of 7.5 hours.
Meal allowance: $12 in certain overtime cases.
Sick leave: 9.375 hours for each calendar month for which employee receives pay for at least 75 hours.
Pension: Canada Pension Plan, Québec Pension Plan
Bereavement leave: Day of the memorial or must begin within two days following the death. Three days leave with pay for the purpose of travel related to the death.
Severance: Severance termination benefits equal to one week’s pay for each complete year of continuous employment and, in the case of a partial year of continuous employment, one week’s pay multiplied by the number of days of continuous employment divided by 365 to a maximum of 30 weeks.
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
EC-01 Step 1: 60,278, 61,638 after June 2024 increase.
EC-02 Step 1: 67,438, 68,959 after June 2024 increase.
Editor’s notes: Part-time employees shall be paid at the straight-time rate of pay for all work performed up to 7.5 hours in a day or 37.5 hours in a week.
