Toronto security guards at Primary Response join UFCW

Workers want to better wages, benefits, working conditions: Union

Primary Response security guards at the Seneca College Newnham Campus in Toronto are the newest members of United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW) Local 333 after voting to join the union June 3.

The 34 security guards work for one of the largest security companies in Ontario. They joined UFCW to achieve better wages, benefits, and working conditions, said the union.

“We look forward to securing significant improvements for the Primary Response workers when we begin negotiations,” said Richard McNaughton, president of UFCW Canada Local 333.
